“Alexis is the type of therapist I have been searching for most of my adult life. In the time I have spent with her, I already experience shifts in the way I approach things and converse with others. Her art exercises have been truly insightful and is a welcome addition when we complete them. Words can not express how thankful I am for her insight and questions she presents. I look forward to many sessions to come and the continued growth due to her expertise and guidance.”

“Therapy is challenging at times. Alexis has brought the challenge to me in an ingestible manner, breaking down each aspect of what I’m dealing with into bite sized pieces. Every session so far has been so helpful and I have come out more introspective and mindful of what to do next in my life.”

Getting to know Alexis Mardosa

The provider is a “Licensed Professional Counselor" and their license number is 37PC00747600 Hello! I am so glad you are reading this; it is a pleasure to meet you. Let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Alexis Mardosa. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Board-certified Art Therapist in the states of Georgia and New Jersey. I have been in the counseling field for over ten years. I graduated with honors from Caldwell University in New Jersey, earning a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an Art Therapy Specialization. I am passionate about using creativity to heal and empower others. I believe in the therapeutic process of one person helping another and the significant impact kindness can make. We all deserve a safe space to freely express ourselves in a judgmental world. I want to provide this space for you to grow and fulfill your destiny to be great. I take an integrative and holistic approach to therapy, grounded in the belief that individuals are complex beings influenced by their relationships, environments, and personal histories. By understanding these diverse dynamics, I can help you navigate challenges, foster personal growth, and develop healthier relationships. I have experience addressing a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, self-esteem, and life transitions. I also have extensive experience navigating family challenges related to parenting, blended families, divorce, and conflict resolution. My background includes work in hospital emergency rooms, children’s hospitals, residential substance abuse programs, cognitive traumatic brain injury and disabilities, mental health inpatient and outpatient settings, private practice, and crisis intervention in-home therapy. My specialty is working with children and adolescents from ages 4 through 16. As a therapist specializing in this age group,

What should a new client know about working with you?

The first few therapy sessions set the foundation for personal growth and healing. During this time, we will get to know each other. Therapy is a gradual process, which leads to positive change and a renewed sense of well-being. Whether you face major challenges or seek personal growth, together we will find solutions to discover a more fulfilling life. Allow me to facilitate a therapeutic journey created around your individualized needs. You do not have to travel on this journey alone. Therapy sessions are used as "your time", therefore each session is tailored around your needs at that time. I believe you will find a new perspective and increased sense of motivation by consistently committing to working on you.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
