Getting to know Allison Bartel

An existential and trauma-focused Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's in Professional Counseling from Amberton University. I bring to the therapeutic relationship a calming and thoughtful demeanor, an analytic vision, and a view of the big picture. I help my clients to “connect the dots” as they explore the stories of their own lives. My style is objective and analytical. I ask relevant, detailed questions as we find patterns and themes. With curiosity and intuition, I help clients identify the early roots of current problems, the inaccurate beliefs, and the maladaptive behaviors that keep them stuck and sad. My approach is existential, cognitive, and trauma-focused where appropriate. I am EMDR certified. My clients have found help working through anxiety, relationship problems, depression, work-related issues, early childhood wounds, and past traumas large and small.
