Psychotherapist

Do you spend your days taking care of others? Who is taking care of you? You may be a healthcare professional in a nursing home, hospital or even physical therapy office. Each patient comes with their own challenges that you tackle successfully, and while you don't hate your job, lately each day leaves you tired. There are probably elements of your personal life that are weighing on you, but there's no time to process anything. Or maybe you find yourself being a caregiver for a loved one, which presents challenges tangled with emotions and relationship history and perhaps grieving the life you imagined.

What should a new client know about working with you?

At Take Care of You Counseling Services, we understand that caregiver burnout and compassion fatigue are real. It doesn't mean you hate your job or that you love someone any less, or that you're weak, but it may mean you need time to process and explore what's going on in an empathetic environment that is free of judgement.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first visit is comprised of questions about your history and what led you to seek therapy, as well as any questions you have for me. We will also set goals for therapy in the first or second session, and then take off from there! You spend your time taking care of others and expending emotional, physical and mental energy towards their wellbeing, it's time to take care of you!
