What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you're already carrying a lot on your own. My goal is to make that first step easier by creating a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can be fully yourself, without fear of being judged. I take a collaborative and individualized approach to care. That means I'm not going to hand you a one-size-fits-all treatment plan. Instead, we'll work together to understand what's really going on beneath the surface, whether that's anxiety, depression, a difficult life transition, or relationship stress, and build a plan that fits your specific goals, strengths, and pace. You can expect sessions that are honest, down-to-earth, and genuinely collaborative. I'll ask thoughtful questions, listen closely, and gently challenge patterns that may be keeping you stuck, while always respecting where you are in your journey. Many clients tell me they appreciate that therapy with me feels like a real partnership rather than a lecture. Whether you're an adolescent, young adult, or adult navigating stress, self-esteem struggles, or emotional overwhelm, my priority is helping you feel heard first, and equipped second.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Your first session focuses on getting to know you. I'll conduct a thorough biopsychosocial assessment to understand your history, current stressors, and goals for therapy. This is a conversation, not an interrogation. There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with right away. From there, we collaboratively build a treatment plan tailored to your needs, drawing from approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), DBT-informed skills, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Care, depending on what fits you best. Sessions typically include a check-in on how you've been since we last met, focused work on specific skills or patterns (such as emotional regulation, coping strategies, or communication tools), and space to process whatever feels most present that week. I regularly revisit your treatment plan with you to track progress and adjust as needed, since growth isn't always linear. If you're navigating a crisis, I'm also equipped to provide crisis intervention and safety planning as part of your care. Above all, sessions are collaborative. You're never just a passive participant. My job is to guide, support, and equip you with tools you can actually use between sessions, so therapy translates into real, lasting change in your daily life.
