Getting to know Angela Stillwell
I provide holistic and integrative mental health. I believe that therapy offers a unique opportunity for intensive emotional and intellectual growth so that one can be better equipped to lead a more productive and fulfilling life. An individual can begin to consider one's life from a different point of view by attaching new meaning to his/her past, explore new avenues for reaching life goals, decrease painful feelings and increase their ability to cope with life's stressors. I believe in the value of the therapeutic relationship and its influence in creating positive change.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I also specialize in anxiety disorders, such as GAD, Panic Disorder, and PTSD. I work at the subconscious and conscience level to heal subconscious wounds and change negative cognitive processing.
My heart goes out to those who have suffered a trauma in their life. Therefore, I am expanding my work in Trauma Informed Therapy, EMDR Therapy and Expressive Arts Therapy where I use the Arts to help those who are suffering from Anxiety, PTSD, and Depression related to trauma.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
A typical session would be both the patient and counselor working together to identify, process, and develop coping skills and restructure of issues that are interfering with the happiness and success in the client's life. The session will end with a review of the session and giving homework to the client to work on before next session. Homework is given as a means to continue treatment and incorporate new skills in everyday life.

I checked in. My appointment was scheduled for 3:30 P.M. I was 12 minutes early. I was in the virtual waiting room until 4:07 P.M. She never logged in. My time is just as valuable as hers. I paid a babysitter to watch my grand nephew for NOTHING! I finally received an email TODAY informing me that she cancelled my appointment. Well, duh! I made an appointment to address my anxiety, and this situation just made it worse. You guys had better not charged my health insurance for this UNPROFESSIONAL behavior. While I was in her virtual waiting room, I made an attempt to physically call her. I only got her voicemail. My anxiety is through the roof. This experience was extremely difficult to deal with and made me feel that my time isn't respected and my mental health was completely disregarded. Two thumbs down.

I’d say that I felt seen! I felt like for the first time with a therapist, I was heard and understood. Even better, she was able to explain the cause and informed me of things I did not know. I loved how quickly I was able to find a therapist and get seen by someone qualified.

We waited for her to come to the appointment for 20 minutes. And then 3 minutes before the appointment time, she emailed me saying that she just seen my sons insurance and she no longer accepts it. I didnt see the email until an hour later. So we waited that whole time
