Getting to know Angie Gruban

I’m a first-generation Balkan Licensed Mental Health Counselor who takes a direct, compassionate, and sometimes humorous approach. I focus on intergenerational trauma, hormonal stress, and grief, areas I’ve personally experienced, so I can relate on a real, HUMAN level. Therapy with me is about being seen, understood, and supported as a whole person, tears, laughs, and all.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I like to get to know my clients as whole people, not just a list of symptoms. Our sessions are collaborative: we’ll explore patterns that may be holding you back, develop practical tools that actually work, and create a space where both hard conversations and moments of laughter are welcome.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

First session, we’ll talk about what’s weighing on you, laugh at some of life’s absurdities, and leave with a plan to make things better. And yes, I’m a real human, not AI; therefore I promise I won’t start suggesting you meditate with a spreadsheet or overanalyze your life algorithmically.
