Getting to know Anissa Howerton

Anissa earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Liberty University in May 2010 and her Master of Science degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in January 2013. Anissa became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in June 2016. She then established a mental health outpatient private practice part-time and served a diverse population with various mental health disorders. Anissa has hosted multiple marriage retreats focusing on ‘Oneness’ and ‘Love’. These retreats provide a getaway where spouses can experience time away together, as well as get equipped with practical tools for their relationship. Anissa has extensive experience in facilitating various workshops, such as “Behavioral Interventions for Preschool and School-Aged Children”, “Marriage, Family, and Chronic Stress”, and “Marriage Empowerment: Hope-Focused Counseling”. In her free time, Anissa enjoys traveling, shopping, learning French, and spending time with her family.
