Getting to know Anna Lobanova

I came to the USA from Belarus over 25 years ago and started my career as a college counselor at a private college in Chicago. I hold a Master's in Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University. I am dedicated to learning and supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds. I help my clients overcome obstacles and guide them to make choices that positively impact their future. I have training and experience working with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and trauma.

What should a new client know about working with you?

It is important to feel safe to explore your life challenges while also exploring constraints to change in your life. I believe strongly that our sense of personal identity can have profound impact in creating positive change. I speaks both Russian and English. In my spare time, I enjoy time with family, writing, cooking, gardening, swimming, yoga, and meditation.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach to therapy is establishing a compassionate relationships with my clients. I believe in developing a warm and nurturing environment, while assisting my clients with evaluating and overcoming constraints to make changes in their lives. As a therapist, I use a combination of clinical approaches to best address the individual , unique needs of every client, including CBT and DBT.
