Getting to know Ashleigh Athen

Hi, I'm Ashleigh. I am a therapist in the Westminster area. My virtual practice focuses on many mental health concerns, ranging from stress to panic and "blues" to major depression. My main specialty is helping people heal from traumatic experiences and Grief. As a therapist who has worked with families for over 15 years, I enjoy helping parents manage the many stressors and challenges of raising children (biological, fostered, adopted, or with other special needs). I have a passion for supporting moms and dads, especially in the prenatal and postpartum phases of life, in addition to aspiring parents who may be experiencing fertility challenges.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy with me is a relaxed and educational process, where you can work on the challenges of life. I offer a supportive, safe, and confidential space for individual adults to explore their mental health and emotional well-being.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session will begin with a check-in on your general wellbeing, then we will begin discussing a focus area of your choice, relevant to your mental health and growth. Each session will end with a check-in about how the session went and a discussion about scheduling for future sessions.
