What should a new client know about working with you?

I understand that beginning therapy can feel uncomfortable or overwhelming, especially when you are having difficulty identifying exactly what is causing you to feel the way you do. My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you can speak openly and feel understood. We will work together to identify your concerns, establish meaningful goals, and develop tools that are specific to you and your circumstances. I want therapy to feel collaborative, practical, and focused on helping you make changes that improve your everyday life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During our initial sessions, I spend time learning about what brought you to therapy, your current concerns, important relationships and life circumstances, and what you would like to change. Together, we establish treatment goals and begin identifying patterns in thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that may be contributing to your difficulties. Depending on your needs, I may incorporate cognitive behavioral strategies, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and strength-based techniques. Ongoing sessions focus on building coping skills, improving self-awareness, addressing current challenges, and evaluating progress toward your goals.
