Aubrie Wade, LMFT

Psychotherapist
TX
Hi there! My name is Aubrie Wade, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Texas. I earned my Master's in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University. As a military spouse, I have witnessed firsthand the impact of trauma-not only on those directly affected but also on their loved ones. This experience has shaped my primary focus in therapy: helping people find solutions to their concerns to alleviate pain and suffering. My approach is very solution-focused. I don't believe therapy should be an “every Wednesday at 3 for the next five years” kind of commitment. There's something in your life that isn't going the way you want-that's why you're here. Let's work together to make it at least a little better. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in its many forms and would love to share more about it with you! I work extensively with trauma and its related challenges, including anxiety, depression, and communication concerns. My clients range from children as young as 3 to geriatric adults, with a special focus on service members, veterans, and their families. When it comes to communication, I like to be honest and transparent. Please call me Aubrie-I'm not about formal titles. I'm here to work with you and be present for whatever you're dealing with. In couples therapy, I strive to remain neutral, and overall, I keep things low-key. You're already handling a lot; therapy should be a comfortable space for you. My journey to mental healthcare started with plans for medical school, but after marrying a soldier and moving frequently, I became a high school biology teacher at 24. Teaching gave me insight into my students' lives, and I found myself acting as a counselor. During my husband's first deployment, I went back to school to become a therapist-and I've never looked back.
