Getting to know Bethny Brown

Beth is a client-centered, psychodynamic therapist trained at Columbia University in New York. She holds both an MA and MSEd in Mental Health Counseling. Her work is informed by queer theory, mind-body connections, and intersectionality. That means she works with you to understand what’s inside of you, what’s outside of you, and how they overlap and intertwine. Our identities influence the ways in which we show up in the world and with each other. The identities that Beth brings into the therapy room are that of a detribalized, white-bodied, Xicana woman. There are parts of her that stem from both the colonized and colonizers. She acknowledges that she holds many privileges as a white-passing, able-bodied, straight-sized, femme person. She is proudly queer. She is an activist and advocate. And she can’t wait to meet you!
