Bonnie Berkowitz, LCSW-R

Bonnie Berkowitz, LCSW-R

Psychotherapist
NY
I provide both in-person and telehealth services. I am in network with many companies through a group practice, so I may not be directly searchable with your insurance provider. Out-of-pocket fees can be adjusted if necessary during intake, or we can discuss them beforehand. My clients come to therapy seeking to reach goals, make changes in themselves or their relationships, work through traumatic injuries, and improve the quality of their lives and those of their loved ones. It is important for clients to understand that every person and family is unique, and the therapeutic journey must be individualized. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from New York University and a Certificate in Psychoanalysis from the National Psychological Association for Psychoanalysis, which inform my approach to therapy.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work through a humanistic and relational approach to work in a dialogue that can lead to changes and open doors. 30 years in this field has lead to an integrated model of practice methods which is tailored to the needs of every person and family. My in depth training in psychoanalysis, child development and history as a child and family practitioner provides me with the most comprehensive appreciation of the human experience.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Seeking help can feel like a leap from a place that is familiar and solid to something shifting and uncertain.. For some, it is a relief and for others scary I aim to make it a safe step for you. The primary method is dialogue and exploration. My aim is for you to leave your sessions feeling better with a sense of accomplishment. I am engaged, non-judgemental and easy to talk to.
