Balance is a word I use often as there are opposites that may be true at the same time or multiple perspectives that all seem valuable but which may clash. You may be struggling with black and white thinking or habitual responses, when you may want to consider more nuanced and diverse options to solve your problems and challenge your emotions. As much value as there is in emotional experiencing, emotions are motivating urges that do not always fit the facts. They're a great signpost to encourage us to think more, but they may not always consider the entire truth. We will learn together how to think more clearly, respond instead of reacting, and tolerate distress even when we cannot get rid of it entirely. Let's learn skills and figure out how to increase our sense of control and focus when it suits us most. My focus My ideal clients are adults who are willing to challenge their current way of thinking and behaving while being willing to question how to uncover deeper truths about themselves and the world. Most people join therapy because something isn't working and there is tension in their life somewhere (whether internal, external, or both). It may be scary to consider your worldview doesn't always fit your life well, but I run on the foundational principle that our idea of the world is never static and never 100% accurate.
