You deserve to be heard, seen, and known. Life is complex and hard to navigate, but it is especially difficult when you have been hurt by someone you trusted. How do you trust again? Is healing possible? You may find yourself questioning your own identity. Whether you were hurt by a friend, a family member, a significant other, or a co-worker, your pain is valid. It can seem easy to push aside feelings of worthlessness, self-doubt, anger, guilt, and sadness, but eventually, those heavy emotions start to negatively affect how you connect with others and how you view yourself. I love getting to know people’s stories and who they are. We, as humans, are complex and beautiful. I know therapy can seem intimidating and scary because I have been there. I have experienced how powerful it is to share your most precious and intimate thoughts with someone else and not be judged. I understand how burdensome feelings of shame, anxiety, loneliness, and anger can feel—and I also know how it feels to have those burdens become more manageable or gone! This is why I desire to be a therapist: to see myself and others grow. I hold a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and studied at Moody Bible Institute, which has shaped my approach to care and compassion. Some of the little things I enjoy in life are sipping iced chai lattes and reading a good novel. I am active in my church and love gathering with friends for a game night.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I value working together as a team with clients. In the first few sessions, we will explore your story while also setting some goals for your healing. Once we gain an understanding of your goals, I typically will use a combination of therapy skills tailored to what works for you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Sessions with me will reflect the traditional talk therapy. When beneficial, I incorporate activities in sessions and outside of sessions to help clients achieve their goals. I am trained in EMDR, which helps process trauma and various other issues.
