“I was pleasantly surprised that I wanted to open up and talk. It was a first visit for me so I can’t give a concise response at this time, but based on my first time I would encourage my friends to seek help.”

Getting to know Bryan Epel

With over 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist and clinic director/supervisor in a variety of clinics throughout the New York area, I bring a wealth of expertise in helping individuals navigate life's challenges. I specialize in working with adults, adolescents, and parents dealing with issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, chronic illness, and relationship difficulties, among others. I hold a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Stony Brook University and a Bachelor’s degree from Miami University. My approach to therapy is collaborative, direct, and psychodynamic, which means that together, we will explore your personal development, resilience, healing, and the achievement of your goals. I take a strengths-based, person-centered approach, tailoring treatment to your unique needs by integrating a variety of modalities like CBT and TFCBT, to name a few. When considering a therapist, it is vital that you feel comfortable with your practitioner. I offer a 15-minute complimentary consultation to provide an opportunity for you to engage, assess potential treatment options, and determine if working together will be a good fit. I provide a calming and affirming environment in which you are free to share.
