Caitlin Lacy, SW

Psychotherapist
PA
I support millennial women and cycle-breakers who are ready to heal the patterns they didn’t choose but are determined not to pass down. My practice focuses on trauma recovery, nervous system regulation, and helping you move from survival mode into a life rooted in safety, self-trust, and genuine emotional freedom. My work integrates EMDR therapy, Internal Family Systems (parts-work), and somatic, polyvagal-informed approaches. I specialize in treating trauma, complex PTSD, anxiety, people-pleasing, perfectionism, and burnout — especially among high-achieving, highly empathetic women who have spent years taking care of everyone else first. You don’t need to “perform” healing here or push through your symptoms. We go at a pace that honors your nervous system and your lived experience. My approach is warm, compassionate, collaborative, and attuned — placing your inner sense of safety above everything else. Healing isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about returning to the version of yourself who existed before survival mode took over. If you’re ready to break generational patterns, stop self-abandoning, and build a life you feel safe living in, I’d be honored to support you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy with me is a place where you don’t have to hold it all together or explain why something “shouldn’t” feel as hard as it does. We honor your nervous system, not shame it. My style is: Trauma-informed & attachment-attuned Gentle, collaborative, and grounding Curious, not prescriptive — no fixing or forcing Rooted in somatic + internal parts work Focused on long-term emotional transformation, not quick coping tricks You can expect a therapist who: Believes you Sees your survival strategies as intelligent adaptations Moves at a nervous-system-safe pace Celebrates your capacity, not your productivity Helps you build internal safety, not just manage symptoms I work best with clients who want depth — who are tired of self-help hacks, tired of being strong, and ready to do the real emotional unwinding that leads to genuine independence, grounded boundaries, and sustainable self-worth.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work begins with understanding your story through a nervous system and trauma-informed lens — not asking, “What’s wrong with you?” but rather, “What happened to you, and what did you have to do to survive?” During our early sessions, we focus on: Building safety, trust, and internal capacity Understanding your nervous system patterns Resourcing and grounding skills tailored to your body and history Exploring parts of you that carry pain, fear, or protection As we build a secure therapeutic foundation, we may integrate: EMDR to process trauma and stuck emotional memories Internal Family Systems/parts-work to support inner healing Somatic and mindfulness-based techniques to reconnect with safety in your body Emotional regulation practices grounded in polyvagal theory Sessions are collaborative and responsive — not rigid or one-size-fits-all. You lead the pace, and we follow what your system is ready for. My role is to support, attune, and guide you toward lasting internal change, so you can move through life with clarity, confidence, and self-trust.
