Getting to know Candice Lopolito

You may look like you are holding everything together on the outside, but inside you feel anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of yourself. Maybe you are going through a life transition, struggling in your relationships, feeling disconnected from who you are, or noticing the same patterns keep showing up no matter how hard you try to change them. Therapy can be a space to slow down, feel heard, and begin understanding what has been weighing on you. Hi, I’m Candice, an LMSW therapist at Sol Health, working under the supervision of senior-licensed clinician Wenling Riehle, LCSW. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, self-esteem concerns, emotional overwhelm, relationship stress, and major life changes. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, build healthier coping skills, and feel more grounded and confident in your daily life. My approach is warm, collaborative, and individualized. I draw from CBT, psychodynamic therapy, person-centered therapy, mindfulness, and gentle somatic awareness. This means we can work on practical tools for the present while also exploring the deeper patterns, experiences, and beliefs that may be keeping you stuck. I aim to create a calm, nonjudgmental space where you can show up honestly, feel supported, and begin moving toward meaningful change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients should know that my style is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. You do not have to come to therapy with the “perfect” words or know exactly where to start. We will begin by getting to know what has been weighing on you, what you hope to change, and what kind of support feels most helpful for you. I take an individualized approach, which means I do not believe therapy should look the same for everyone. I draw from CBT, psychodynamic therapy, person-centered therapy, mindfulness, and gentle somatic awareness. In our work together, we may explore deeper patterns from your past while also building practical tools for anxiety, emotional overwhelm, boundaries, communication, and self-worth. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported, while also helping you move toward genuine growth and change at a pace that feels safe and meaningful.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In the first session, we will take time to get to know what brings you to therapy, what you have been experiencing, and what you hope to feel or change. You do not need to have everything figured out before starting. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable while also identifying the areas where you would like support. A typical session with me is conversational, supportive, and collaborative. We may explore current stressors, relationship patterns, emotions, past experiences, coping skills, and the thoughts or beliefs that may be keeping you stuck. I often use a blend of CBT, psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, person-centered therapy, and gentle somatic awareness to help you build insight while also developing practical tools you can use outside of session. My goal is for each session to feel like a space where you can be honest, feel heard, and leave with a little more clarity, grounding, or direction than when you came in.

I absolutely love Candice. I’ve struggled a lot with finding a good therapist in the past but I believe she is my perfect match. She listens and remembers. She is always asking deep questions that help me think. And there is never awkward silence. She always seems to know exactly what to say. She is very caring, honest, and accommodating. I don’t see myself with any other therapist.
I was never seen by the provider. I waited for almost 30 minutes and left the Google Meeting after that. I’m not sure if the office was unaware of the appointment or if scheduling changed but if the latter was the case I was never informed. I thought it was extremely unprofessional.

Candice dropped me as a client during my second appointment over an issue listed in her qualifications. More importantly, she waited until the appointment itself, knowing I was on vacation in Puerto Rico, so she could bill my insurance for the visit. She had two weeks to make a simple phone call, having canceled on me the week prior, but wasted valuable time for me to find a real therapist. Now her office is contacting me for the copay. I also don't know why she came up on Zocdoc as a local provider. She is PA based and it doesn't seem like she has spoken to many New Yorkers.

Candice is just stellar. It did not take her long to offer actionable items to take on so I can make actual progress with my mental wellbeing. Also, if you are a person of faith, look no further. She is such a great therapist!
