Psychotherapist
NJ
My path to becoming a therapist hasn’t been linear, and that’s very much part of how I practice. Before entering the clinical world, I worked in creative and people-centered spaces, where storytelling, connection, and understanding the why behind behavior mattered deeply. Over time, I found myself more drawn to the art of the pivot, those moments in life when things shift, identities change, and you’re asked to reimagine who you are and where you’re going. That curiosity eventually led me to therapy. As a Black Zillennial woman with a diverse upbringing, I bring a culturally responsive, open-minded, and deeply human lens to my work. I understand how systems, culture, family, and identity intersect with mental health, and I hold space for all of that in the room. I’m especially passionate about working with clients navigating life transitions, confidence building, identity exploration, and value-based living. At my core, I believe therapy should feel collaborative, grounding, and empowering, not intimidating or overly clinical.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You don’t need to come in with everything figured out. Working with me is less about fixing yourself and more about understanding yourself, your patterns, your values, and what actually matters to you in this season of life. I meet clients with curiosity, compassion, and honesty, and I take your lived experience seriously. I’m especially supportive of clients who are at a crossroads or in transition, struggling with self-doubt, overthinking, or people pleasing, rebuilding confidence or redefining identity, and wanting therapy that feels reflective, affirming, and real. You can expect a space where you feel seen, respected, and encouraged to move at your own pace. Sessions tend to feel conversational and reflective, with space for both insight and practical tools. I don’t believe therapy has to feel rigid or clinical to be effective. It should feel grounded, thoughtful, and supportive. I integrate mindfulness, values exploration, and motivational work to help clients build confidence and clarity, not by pushing change, but by helping them reconnect with what feels meaningful and authentic. I’m less interested in labeling you and more interested in understanding your story, your strengths, and the context of your life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We start by getting to know you, your background, what brought you to therapy, and what you’re hoping for, even if it’s unclear or evolving. Together, we explore patterns, values, and internal narratives that may be keeping you stuck, while also identifying strengths you already have. Over time, sessions focus on building awareness, confidence, and intentional action aligned with your values. I practice talk therapy with mindfulness based and values focused interventions woven in, and I regularly check in to make sure therapy is feeling helpful and aligned with your goals.
