Psychotherapist
CT
I am a licensed clinical social worker providing psychotherapy to adults who want to better understand themselves, feel more emotionally grounded, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships. Many of the people I work with appear high-functioning on the outside, but internally feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from what they truly need. My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and thoughtful. I believe healing happens in the context of a safe, trusting relationship, and I strive to create a space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported, while also gently challenged to grow. Therapy with me is not about being “fixed,” but about developing insight, self-compassion, and clarity so you can move through life with greater ease and confidence. I draw from evidence-based approaches, including narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based practices, and relational and cognitive frameworks. Our work is tailored to you, with attention to both present-day stressors and the deeper patterns that shape how you relate to yourself and others. I am especially attentive to the mind-body connection and how emotional experiences show up physically, mentally, and relationally. I work with clients navigating anxiety, stress, burnout, life transitions, dating and relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, grief, and questions of identity and direction. Many clients come to therapy feeling exhausted by overthinking, people-pleasing, or repeating the same relationship dynamics—and are ready for something to shift. My goal is to help clients feel more connected to themselves, more secure in their choices, and more capable of setting boundaries that honor their values. Therapy is a place to slow down, make sense of your experiences, and build the emotional resilience needed to create a life that feels more authentic and satisfying.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me feels conversational, thoughtful, and supportive. Therapy is a space where you don’t need to have the “right” words or a clear agenda. Here, we slow things down together and make sense of what you’re experiencing at your own pace. I aim to create an environment that feels emotionally safe, grounded, and collaborative, where you can show up exactly as you are. My style is warm and engaged, with a balance of empathy and gentle challenges. I will listen closely, ask questions that invite reflection, and help you notice patterns that may be influencing how you think, feel, and relate to others. I believe meaningful change happens when insight is paired with compassion, not pressure or judgment. I draw from narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based practices, and relational and cognitive approaches. This means we may explore both present-day challenges and the past experiences that shape them, while also developing tools you can use in your everyday life. I pay close attention to the mind-body connection and how stress and emotions show up physically, emotionally, and relationally. Clients often work with me around anxiety, burnout, life transitions, dating and relationship concerns, self-esteem, grief, and emotional overwhelm. Many people I see are high achievers or highly self-aware yet feel stuck in patterns of overthinking, people-pleasing, or emotional exhaustion. You can expect our work to be collaborative and tailored to your needs. I won’t tell you who to be or what to do, but I will support you in building clarity, self-trust, and boundaries that align with your values. Over time, therapy becomes a place to feel more connected to yourself and more confident in how you move through the world.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work usually begins with a few sessions focused on getting to know you: your history, current concerns, relationships, and what led you to seek therapy now. There is no pressure to share everything at once. We move at a pace that feels comfortable, allowing trust and safety to develop naturally. In ongoing sessions, therapy tends to feel conversational and reflective. We often start by checking in about what’s been most present for you since our last meeting. From there, we explore thoughts, emotions, and patterns as they arise, connecting present-day experiences with broader themes in your life. I may ask questions, reflect on what I’m hearing, or gently invite you to look at things from a new perspective. I integrate insight-oriented work with practical tools when helpful. This might include building awareness around emotional triggers, practicing mindfulness-based strategies, or exploring new ways of responding in relationships. I pay close attention to how stress and emotions show up in the body, and we may slow down at times to help you feel more grounded in the moment. Therapy with me is collaborative and flexible rather than scripted. Some sessions are focused on processing emotions or experiences in depth, while others may center on problem-solving, boundary-setting, or navigating a specific situation. I aim to balance support with thoughtful, respectful challenge, helping you build clarity and self-trust over time. Progress is not always linear, and that’s expected. We regularly check in about how therapy is feeling and adjust our work as needed. My goal is for sessions to feel meaningful, steady, and responsive to what you need so therapy becomes a space where insight, resilience, and self-compassion can grow in a way that feels sustainable and real.
