Cecilia enjoys working with teens, adults, and a multicultural population and believes it's important that each person takes charge of their treatment and an active role in their own journey. She holds a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Chicago State University and is fully licensed, with over 10 years of counseling experience.
She feels confident working with a variety of concerns including relationships, depression, anxiety, stress, life transitions, suicidal ideation, spiritual, multicultural, and women's issues. Cecilia also takes into consideration a person's history of trauma, cultural background, and childhood experiences to help individuals gain insight into their struggles.
Cecilia finds joy in seeing her clients discover their strengths and utilize these so they can reach their goals. In sessions, she incorporates CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused, Person-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness, Art, and Play activities, as well as multicultural and Christian approaches when desired. Because each person is unique, she uses a variety of techniques depending on where the person is, where they want to go, and what they are looking for in sessions.
