What should a new client know about working with you?

Hi my name is Chelsea, I am an LCSW-C with over 7 years of experience providing individual and group counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, and families within various settings of practice. Clinical settings include school, hospitals outpatient therapy and crisis stabilization. My clinical skills address topics such as anxiety, depression, mood fluctuation, grief, sexuality, identity, and substance abuse struggles just to name a few. I enjoy helping others while using strength-based approaches and integrating various treatment therapies to best meet the needs and goals of the individual Client. I provide emotional support and guidance to adults and young adults focusing on anxiety and depression relief. I strive to empower her clients to create space, balance, time, and strength to process and embrace their needs in efforts to become the best version of themselves.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The process of building rapport is critical in developing the therapeutic relationship and thus the first pillar of my practice. I believe in care that is client centered meaning if the presenting issue is anxiety based perhaps a CBT method of treatment would be more useful. If trauma is the presenting issues the course of treatment may differ to incorporate trauma solution focused treatment and so on. And lastly, it is important to take into consideration the environment in which the client is in/ and was in throughout youth as all our life experiences influence how we utilize coping skills.
