“Chris is incredibly laid back and disarming. At no point have I ever felt like I couldn’t open up to him about what was going on nor fear that I was going to be judged. Additionally there have been times in our sessions where he rightfully made me confront attitudes or insights that I was incorrect or wrong about. Note that this wasn’t done in a harsh manner but more of a firm acknowledgment that I was in the wrong. I’ve seen counselors and therapists who have been combative with me in the past and I’ve seen counselors and therapists who seemingly just agreed with whatever I was saying. Chris is neither of those. He’s more of a guide that’s kept me on the path to realizing what I needed to do or patiently waiting for me to come to the same conclusion that he had already reached. His SPECIAL method has been a lifesaver for me over the past two years and one I recommend to friends and family who find themselves feeling overwhelmed as well. To summarize, Chris is absolutely the best. ”

What should a new client know about working with you?

Hello my name is, Chris. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 15 years of experience in counseling interventions with children, adults, and families. I have a successful history in helping clients with stress and anxiety, coping with addictions, parenting issues, motivation, couples counseling, divorce care, self-esteem, & confidence.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

It is paramount to me to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. My therapy style has been characterized as warm, encouraging, compassionate, and goal oriented. I believe that every person deserves a mental headquarters to map out how they think, and to be able to alter the course in which travel through reality. My approach is an amalgam of cognitive-behavioral, motivational interviewing, and grounding/practical techniques. Together we can create goals so you can regain and/or maintain your mental health. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!

Chris has a gift with people and made me feel comfortable and uplifted from the jump. You can tell he really cares about his clients. It can be hard to trust someone with your emotions but Chris provided a safe space for me to work through things. He provided compassion when I didn't know how to give it to myself. Together we planned ways to overcome some of my struggles and he helped me gain the self esteem I needed to do so. I think I have grown so much since starting therapy with Chris. It's been 3 years and at this point I won't see anyone else!
