I'm Chris Peckham. I hold an MEd in Mental Health Counseling from Clemson University and have been working with teens and young adults for over 17 years in a variety of settings, including summer camps, wilderness therapy, therapeutic boarding schools, and intensive outpatient programs. My true passion in clinical work is helping older adolescents and young adults make a successful transition to independence. I bring a strength-based approach to my clients, supported by training in cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy. I help clients reconsider themselves and their value, empowering them to develop self-efficacy, motivation, and self-confidence. Some say my rare talent is reaching those "hard-to-reach" youths to help them build confidence and competence so they can move ahead in their lives in a constructive way.
