Getting to know Christopher Peters

With years of experience working at the intersection of identity, relationships, and trauma recovery, I specialize in supporting individuals-especially trauma survivors and those within the LGBTQ+ community. My clients are insightful and resilient, often navigating challenges like addiction, perfectionism, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and overwhelming shame. Many feel as though they're "going crazy" or may not feel anything at all; others may be labeled "narcissistic" and are searching for a space where they can show up fully as themselves-without judgment-so they can make sense of their experiences and begin to heal. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University and a Bachelor's degree from Indiana University. My approach is a blend of deep therapeutic work and real, honest conversation-compassionate, direct, and at times, even infused with humor. Healing begins with self-compassion and a deeper understanding of your patterns. You are not broken, and your struggles do not define you. Every behavior, even those you wish to change, once served a purpose. Instead of shame, we bring curiosity. Instead of judgment, understanding. You deserve to be seen, heard, and supported. You don't have to do this alone. Reach out, and let's take the next step together. **Note: I am not in-network with any insurance companies but can provide a superbill for out-of-network benefits.**

What should a new client know about working with you?

I use a flexible approach involving multiple techniques/modalities in working with my clients. I'm less about treating "symptoms" and more about about healing. I am transparent in my efforts and work with them to co-construct goals and a reasonable means of evaluating progress. I am trained in EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MSBR) techniques, so I integrate those and other cognitive neuroscience education along with basic talk therapy techniques. .

What is your typical process for working with clients?

For you initial session you should expect a call/email from me within the first 24 hours after booking to discuss the needed items before your visit.

I would definitely go back. Chris was kind, patient, and listened very well. He was clear on what his practice provides.
I've been in therapy for years and this is the first time I have felt I've made progress. Thanks Chris!
Chris provided a type of therapy (IFS and EMDR) that worked unlike any other therapy I have tried. Highly recommend.
Struggled to find the right fit and am so happy I found Chris on here! Not your typical “talk” therapist.
I've been working with Chris for 6 months now and recommend for those looking to explore and overcome challenges related to childhood trauma.
Highly recommend for IFS therapy
Tried ketamine assisted therapy with Chris and it was life changing! Felt really comfortable trying something new with him because he was knowledable about the entire process (both in talk therapy and ketamine)
