Greetings, I am Courtney Foster, your facilitator of change. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor, I understand that while the desire for change is universal, identifying the path forward can be challenging. My goal is to assist you in transforming into a more fulfilled version of yourself. Whether you are navigating life transitions, grappling with anxiety, depression, substance misuse, relationship difficulties, or other mental health concerns, I can help you develop a strategic plan for improvement. If you are a teenager feeling misunderstood by your parents or a young adult still finding your way in life, I invite you to engage in a conversation with me. I utilize a blend of fundamental counseling skills, such as empathy and active listening, along with established counseling theories like Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to facilitate your change. I look forward to supporting you as you take the next steps toward a more fulfilling life. My approach In life, there are numerous pathways to achieving a solution. I graduated from the USC School of Medicine, where I studied and practiced various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Psychodynamic therapy. Regardless of the theoretical framework employed, I adhere to a Person-Centered approach. This is your life and your session; my role is to facilitate rather than dictate. Whether we apply several approaches or focus on a single one, the therapeutic process will be customized to meet your unique needs. CBT emphasizes the examination of the interplay between thoughts, feelings, and emotions, fostering awareness of these elements and equipping individuals with coping strategies and techniques to intervene effectively.
