Getting to know Crystal Lillo
Crystal Lillo is a NYS Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC), who has been working in the mental health field since 2017. Crystal graduated from Hunter College with a Masters of Education in Mental Health Counseling with honors. Crystal practices therapy primarily using a humanistic approach. A humanistic approach focuses on free will, human potential, and self-discovery. It aims to help you develop a strong and healthy sense of self, explore your feelings, find meaning, and focus on your strengths. Crystal is inclusive of a mixture of therapeutic modalities, believing that therapy is not one size fits all. Crystal works to hold an anti-racist, affirming, inclusive therapeutic space. Crystal has received training in sex therapy from The Ackerman Institute, which has allowed for her to create a space for individuals and couples looking to strengthen their sexual intimacy and emotional connections. Additionally, Crystal has received training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) from The Center for Excellence in EMDR. This modality allows for people to work towards healing from a traumatic event that has happened using bilateral stimulation. The past is present, and we work using dual attention to heal the past for a healthier and well-adjusted present and future.
