Getting to know Crystal Mercer

The decision to start therapy is a brave one, and seeking support is a strength. Congratulations on taking that step! I'd love to work with you on your path to healing. Whether you're dealing with trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, or relationship issues, my goal is to work collaboratively with you to develop personalized strategies that promote healing, growth, and positive change. I believe that every person has the potential to overcome obstacles and lead a fulfilling life, and I am here to support you on that healing journey. I hold a Master's in Counseling Psychology from Dallas Baptist University and a Bachelor's degree from Texas Christian University, which have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to provide compassionate, effective care tailored to your unique needs.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to therapy is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and a Family Systems viewpoint. I tailor my techniques to meet your unique needs. I combine evidence-based practices with an innate understanding of the human experience, aiming to foster self-awareness, emotional resilience, and lasting transformation. In sessions, you can expect a warm, empathetic, and collaborative environment where we work together to uncover the patterns that may be holding you back and identify practical tools to empower you in your daily life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We will spend time assessing your needs and setting your goals for therapy. Each session we will start by checking in on anything specific you would like to focus on before turning to our focused treatment plan. Using a focused treatment plan, which we will develop together, helps us to stay on track to resolve your concerns as efficiently as possible. Homework encourages you to apply techniques and insight gained during a session to your everyday life.
