Getting to know Daisy Chow

Please note that we do not accept insurance plans managed by third-party administrators. Please check your insurance to ensure it is managed directly by the insurance company (Aetna, Cigna). Also, provide your insurance cards and email addresses, as these are required to be seen. If you are looking for a therapist who can offer insight into your current situation, heal past traumas, or help develop healthy coping skills, I am here to support you. I will guide you in improving your communication skills, establishing healthy boundaries, and managing your triggers. Many people hesitate to start counseling because they fear being labeled as someone with "issues." That is far from the truth. It takes courage to reach out for help. If you are ready to take the next step, I would be honored to be part of your healing journey. I hold a Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Houston and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of St. Thomas. "Pain is inevitable; suffering is optional." While we cannot control what happens to us, we do have control over how we respond.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I specialize in providing professional support and guidance for individuals who have experienced trauma such as sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, neglect, religious influence, and generational issues, as well as addressing shame, anxiety, depression, codependency, narcissistic abuse, fear of abandonment, and promoting gentle parenting techniques. My approach is eclectic, a blend of Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Shame-Informed Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. I believe that having a connection is most important in the therapeutic relationship and I strive to make my clients feel safe and heard.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I will ask you about your reasons for seeking therapy, what your current challenges are, your mental health history, and your tentative goals for treatment. The first session we will look into what is causing your symptoms and explore treatment options. We will discuss your desired goals and what you can expect. You will start noticing an increase in self-awareness. You will learn coping skills to manage your anxious thoughts. You will be able to identify faulty thought patterns that have been holding you back.

Daisy is a great therapist, and, having never been to therapy before, I consider myself lucky to have found her. Courteous and professional; I always feel comfortable sharing and expressing myself when I see her. Her honesty and straightforward approach has given me a much greater understanding of myself, and for that I am forever thankful.

It was great. I have been skeptical of therapists/psychiatrist due to terrible past experiences, but Daisy has proven all my skepticisms wrong! It's nice to find a therapist so willing to work with my constantly changing schedules.
I enjoy coming to my weekly sessions. I feel comfortable talking about many uncomfortable topics, which is great since I am new to therapy.

This was my first appointment with Daisy but she was very professional and her experience was directly applicable to my visit. Would certainly recommend her in the future.
She was really professional, had all the paperwork ready for me and helped me to go through it quick so we could start the session without loosing any time. Looking forward to the next session.

I've only had one visit with Daisy so far but I have re-booked for another apt. From the moment I sat down with her to the time I left, I felt completely comfortable and most importantly I didnt feel judged. She's proving to be and I think she is a great Therapist.
