Getting to know David Larocco

Life can feel overwhelming — even when you’re “holding it together” on the outside. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck, stretched thin, or disconnected from who they want to be. You may be navigating pressure at work, trying to meet everyone’s expectations, or feeling like you’ve lost a sense of direction or confidence along the way. My goal is to offer a space where you can slow down, understand yourself more deeply, and feel supported as you make meaningful changes. I work with clients who are dealing with: - Anxiety, self-doubt, or chronic overthinking - Perfectionism or feeling like you’re “never doing enough” - Imposter syndrome or work-related stress - Major life transitions (career shifts, parenthood, changing relationships) - Grief and loss - Low self-esteem, shame, or feeling disconnected from emotions I also have extensive experience supporting men who are navigating evolving roles in relationships, family, and career. Many men struggle with vulnerability, emotional expression, and the pressure to “be strong.” I offer a judgment-free space where those expectations can be explored honestly and safely. My approach is grounded in psychodynamic therapy — not in rehashing the past endlessly, but in understanding the patterns, beliefs, and emotional habits that shape how you move through the world today. Together, we’ll work to uncover new meaning, shift unhelpful patterns, and cultivate a sense of clarity and confidence. Clients often tell me that therapy with me feels thoughtful, collaborative, and grounding. I am a licensed clinical social worker and completed my master’s degree at Hunter College, Silberman School of Social Work. Whether you’re experiencing a specific challenge or simply feel disconnected or overwhelmed, you don’t have to figure it out alone. I would be glad to meet with you and begin the process of understanding what you need and how we can get there together..
