Getting to know Dawn Clark

With 30 years of behavioral health experience, I am here to support you. At DWC and Wellness, it is our goal to provide tailored care. I am currently accepting Self-pay clients only. Anxiety, depression, anger management, trauma, burnout and substance use support using CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Trauma-Informed Care and mindfulness. Telehealth, evenings and weekends available. I help clients create real and lasting change through self-understanding, empowerment, and practical action. My work focuses on anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, leadership stress, workplace demands, relationship conflict, self-esteem, and life transitions—with a strong specialization in supporting substance use, misuse, harm-reduction, and recovery journeys. Confidential care for healthcare professionals. My clinical approach includes CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT, motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based therapy, and solution-focused treatment. My career spans multiple levels of care and diverse populations, including 13 years at Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital in Connecticut and 8 years within the UCHealth system in Colorado. I am licensed in both Connecticut and Colorado, providing virtual therapy and telehealth appointments. I also offer evening and weekend availability to better fit demanding schedules. With these career experiences, I work extensively with healthcare professionals, caregivers, medical providers, mentors, students, and leaders who carry the weight of caring for others. In addition to individual therapy, I provide Life Coaching, professional consultation, career and leadership development support, and family education to help navigate complex or strained relationships. This is a judgment-free, flexible, and confidential environment built for real progress. If you’re ready to reduce stress, strengthen self-worth, heal from trauma, or support your recovery, book your first session—change can start today.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients should know that DWC and Wellness group is a supportive, non-judgmental space designed to help you show up with honesty, feel safe talking about what feels hardest, and walk away with usable tools—not just insight. I work collaboratively and focus on your strengths, resilience, self-worth and motivation for change. Our work together explores thought patterns, emotional regulation, coping skills, behavior change, boundaries, communication, confidence, leadership identity, relational dynamics, and recovery support. Progress is strongest when clients come open, honest, and engaged—and I will guide that process with clinical care, empathy, and 3 decades of professional and lived experience.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session includes a comprehensive review of your history, current symptoms, and short- and long-term goals. Each appointment begins by addressing immediate stressors or concerns, then transitions into deeper work aligned with your goals—whether that’s reducing anxiety, working through depression, processing trauma, navigating burnout, improving relationships, or strengthening leadership and confidence. Clients often start weekly while building rapport and trust. Over time, we collaboratively determine a cadence that fits your life, ranging from weekly to bi-weekly or monthly care. Payment is accepted at the time of service via Zocdoc Clear Price™, HSA/FSA, credit/debit, Venmo, PayPal, or another mutually agreed-upon platform.

Dawn is excellent. She has been incredibly helpful and I'd recommend here to absolutely anyone.
What a breath of fresh air Dawn was! Her compassion radiates and she is an active, engaged and non-judgmental listener, with sound support. I look forward to gaining more insight with her. I was in a low place and in an overdue and significant need of a safe and sound place to just release everything. I didn’t even know where to begin and felt like such an insurmountable mess. I’m astonished that with only one session she already made things seem much more manageable and like regaining control of life is within reach. She is a great choice for anyone who is hesitant about starting or continuing their mental health journey.

I appreciate you not being judgmental and still honest. The story is complex and you have been able to remember and be a support system for over a year now. It’s a great feeling to be able to share and receive some advice.
Dawn has worked with me to uncover valuable insights which have helped me with major life decisions. My quality of life has improved, and I look forward to my sessions. I feel that I can discuss any issue openly and honestly with her.
Dawn has helped me through some of the most difficult and wonderful times in my life. I have never found a therapist that I have been willing to stick with for a long period of time. She is always accommodating to my busy schedule, and doesn't pressure me into setting up an appointment if it causes me more stress. I have been able to share anything and everything with her. She provides me with gentle guidance/ challenges when I am ready to make changes in my life. One of the best parts of Dawn's therapy is that it is online. Being able to open up to someone without worrying about getting there, traffic, what to wear, etc. is wonderful. I can sit outside on nice days to talk with her, or even sit in bed on the cold ones. I highly recommend Dawn!
Dawn was easy to speak with and made me feel very comfortable. She has years of experience too and flexible with hours and availability. I would definitely recommend her!
Dawn is extremely skilled, attentive, and excels at gauging emotions in challenging and complex situations. She quickly identifies the core of even the most complicated issues, often making the process feel like a graceful dance with natural 'aha' moments that come easily, transforming what could be painful into something effortless. I remain thankful for her honesty and resilience, which she communicates in a clear, straightforward manner. Her integrity and strength helped me understand and manage a difficult, complex situation. Dawn has a unique ability to make you feel completely heard, guiding me toward greater ownership of key issues and clarity about what is outside my responsibility. I cherish my tears and our shared laughter! It’s been the best journey ever. Deb

I've been with Dawn for close to a year now and have been seeing her weekly. I've had handfuls of therapists in the past, however Dawn is especially gifted. She is compassionate, wise, caring, and consistently delivers exceptional care. I consider myself extraordinarily lucky to call her my therapist. I can attribute the significant strides I've made in understanding myself, my thoughts and my behaviors so much better thanks to Dawn's help. I would highly recommend seeking care with Dawn.
Dawn is absolutely wonderful! I had previously tried different therapist in the past and never felt like I was able to truly open up. Then I was lucky enough to find Dawn. With Dawn I was able to discuss my deepest issues and truly felt comfortable in a judgement free zone. Anyone would be lucky to have Dawn as a therapist!
I found Dawn through my health insurance portal. We had a brief consultation before our first appointment, and I felt like I was being heard even in that short conversation. I’ve been seeing her for about a year and feel like this is the first time therapy has been effective for me.
