Hi, my name is Dawn! I hold a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Substance Abuse and Addictions. It is my belief that to grow we must feel comfortable in that growth through understanding and acceptance as well as comfortable with those we share that growth with. Building rapport and a therapeutic relationship is key to being able to fully explore this growth through defined boundaries and goal-oriented sessions. Oftentimes to gain a better understanding of self, or to try new strategies, homework assignments may be given outside of sessions. Completing and discussing these assignments honestly will be beneficial toward accomplishing your chosen goals and together we will work to ReNew You! I provide individual, couples and group counseling services to children, adolescent and adult communities seeking mental health therapy, vocational assistance and substance abuse treatment. While my primary theoretical orientation is through a Psychodynamic therapeutic approach, I understand therapy is not a one size fits all model. I believe in tailoring the experience to each client through a multidisciplinary approach to include elements and techniques of: Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, Strengths-based therapy, Narrative Therapy, Existentialism and Positive Psychology. I am comfortable working with all ages but most proficient with children, adolescents, transitioning out Military and their family, Veterans and those with Substance Use and Addictions. I specialize in a variety of Diagnosis to include but not limited to Anxiety, Depression, Adjustment Disorders, PTSD, Addiction, Substance Use, Behavioral Issues, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Grief and Complicated Grief.
