What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients can expect a thoughtful, structured, and respectful therapeutic experience. My approach is direct and collaborative, and I value honesty, accountability, and practical strategies that support meaningful change. Therapy is a space where we work together—at a pace that feels safe—to understand patterns, build skills, and move toward greater stability and clarity. I provide individual therapy for adolescents ages 14 and older and adults. I work best with clients who are open to reflection, willing to engage in the process, and interested in developing tools they can use outside of session. While the work can be challenging at times, it is always grounded in respect, transparency, and care. New clients should also know that I am committed to providing consistent, high-quality treatment within a calm and supportive environment. My goal is to help clients feel understood, empowered, and equipped to make lasting changes.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first few sessions focus on understanding what has brought you to therapy and identifying your goals. We will discuss current concerns, relevant history, and patterns that may be contributing to distress, while also establishing a pace that feels safe and manageable. This initial phase allows us to determine the most appropriate therapeutic approach for your needs. Ongoing sessions are collaborative and structured, with a balance of reflection, skill-building, and practical application. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as behavioral strategies, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and EMDR when appropriate. Sessions may include learning and practicing coping skills, exploring thoughts and emotions, and identifying concrete steps to support progress between sessions. Throughout treatment, I emphasize consistency, clarity, and open communication. Therapy is adjusted as goals evolve, and progress is reviewed regularly to ensure the work remains meaningful and effective.
