Getting to know Denver Payton

Hello! I am Denver, a LMSW therapist at Sol Health with over eight years of experience in the mental health field. I've worked with individuals of all ages and supported individuals with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and personality disorders. My approach is collaborative and I view therapy as a place where you can safely explore yourself and work towards the goals that you have set for yourself. I utilize a variety of modalities depending on the client and their needs. Some of my favorite modalities include DBT, CBT, Art therapy and somatic based approaches. I also enjoy working those who identify as part of the LGTBQ+ community as well as those who are neurodivergent.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me means that we work as team to figure out your goals, strengths and work towards where you want to be. The therapy space is safe and collaborative. I want to meet you where you are at and provide you with the support you need. The goal is always to leave you feeling empowered and with the coping skills to handle whatever you are working through.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

First I begin by ensuring that the therapy space feels safe for you. We will begin by discussing your history, discussing your goals and creating a plan that you feel comfortable with. We will regularly check in on your goals and plan and see if you feel therapy is getting you closer to achieving the goals you set and revise the plan as needed.

Denver was fantastic! She was great with my BPD and she never made me feel stupid for saying something
Denver was great, she really helped me with my anxiety and helped me with gaining insight into myself.
Denver was absolutely life changing for me! She brought such a calm and positive energy and spent so much time advocating for me and helping me in ways i didn’t know i needed. Highly recommend her for BPD and trauma
Denver is really great at helping me recognize what i’m struggling with and then helping me feel like I do have the ability to face those things. She was really knowledgeable on trauma and borderline and was helpful.
The environment felt supportive and non clinical. I felt comfortable being honest, even about things I hadn’t talked about before. Therapy is all very new to me and tbh I was scared to start. It's nice knowing it's not some scary thing.
She was calm, warm, and very easy to connect with. Even on days when I wasn’t sure what to say, they helped guide the conversation in a natural way. Thank you!
Denver helped me through a really difficult time with my anxiety and we were able to work through trauma. I never felt pressured to talk about anything I did not want to.
I went into therapy without a real understanding of myself and throughout my time working with Denver, she always was patient. Finding out why I react the way I do was life changing and I am thankful to be in recovery now.
My therapist Denver has advised me and help me to understand my feelings and emotions of my trauma. Without her, I would be struggling with those unsolved problems.
Talking with you is very easy going and I enjoy the insight and new perspective that therapy has given me. I don't feel any pressure to talk about things I don't want to or that anything is strict or super professional/clinical
Denver always took our time seriously, but didn’t make the sessions feel like I was just being analyzed. She offered “homework” if I wanted it, and was good with following up on things the next week. I felt that Denver was extremely proactive and made sure I felt heard and genuinely listened to. Additionally, she emphasized the fact that I was always welcome to reach out outside of our sessions if need be.
