I have learned so much from my personal and professional experiences, and I am here to help you find the best version of yourself through therapy. Let's get to work and welcome growth. My approach combines CBT, REBT, and person-centered therapy, focusing on asking clients about their reasons for coming to therapy and their motivation for change. Most of us struggle with something, but we may not understand why or have the tools to manage these issues. My focus includes self-care and self-esteem, especially for LGBT Black people who are navigating challenges related to gender identity, sexual identity, anxiety, depression, and other obstacles. My communication style is stern yet relatable and realistic. I enjoy helping clients discover their strengths and weaknesses while identifying patterns. I am their support and provide tools to manage challenges outside of sessions. My journey to therapy began with curiosity and inquisitiveness. I remember wanting to be a therapist while sitting in psychology and sociology classes in high school. From that moment, I knew this was my path. I thrive on using my own experiences to help others, and having support from my own therapist continues to be important to me. I earned my Master's in Counseling from Webster University, which has equipped me with the skills to guide clients effectively. My goals for you involve asking about the goals you want to set and, after setting them, making suggestions for areas you might not yet see to work through for future growth. In our first session, we'll get to know each other to help you feel comfortable, especially if this is your first experience with therapy.
