Domonique Evans, MS, NCC, LPC

Psychotherapist
PA
Domonique D. K. Evans, M.S., NCC, LPC, a trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming therapist and the owner of Midnight Klarity Therapy. I help adults, college students, and couples move from survival mode to intentional living. My work centers on anxiety, depression, grief and loss, ADHD-related challenges, OCD tendencies, anger and emotion regulation, relationship stress (including separation/infidelity concerns), self-esteem, and life transitions. My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and culturally responsive. I draw from CBT, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, solution-focused, and DBT-informed skills. Sessions are practical and goal-oriented—expect clear tools you can use the same day (grounding, thought reframes, communication scripts, values/behavior alignment, relapse-prevention skills). I also create concise worksheets to support progress between sessions. Clients describe me as warm, direct, and non-judgmental. I believe growth happens when insight is paired with action, and I’ll partner with you to set meaningful goals, track progress, and celebrate wins.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Our first visits focus on comfort, clarity, and a plan. We’ll identify what brings you in, define 1–2 priority goals, and agree on simple next steps. I’ll offer education on how stress, thoughts, emotions, and behavior interact, then match skills to your needs (e.g., grounding, breathing, thought-challenging, communication tools, routine building). Between sessions you may receive brief “try-this” practices or a worksheet to keep momentum. I invite ongoing feedback—if something isn’t working, we’ll adjust. You can expect a calm, respectful space; clear boundaries; and a therapist who is attentive to culture, identity, and lived experience. My aim is for you to leave each session with something concrete to practice and a growing sense of confidence in your own capacity to change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I start with a collaborative intake to clarify your goals, take a brief history, and understand strengths, identities, and current stressors. When helpful, I use short screeners (e.g., anxiety/depression scales) to set a baseline. We co-create a simple treatment plan and agree on session frequency. Ongoing sessions follow a steady rhythm: a quick check-in and wins, review of any practice from last time, then focused work using evidence-based tools (CBT thought work, mindfulness/grounding, motivational interviewing, skills for emotion regulation and communication). We end with one small, doable experiment to try between sessions—often supported by a concise handout. Every 4–6 sessions we review progress, update goals, and adjust the approach. With your permission, I can coordinate care with prescribers or other supports. My style is trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming, culturally responsive, and strengths-based. Sessions are typically 55 minutes by telehealth, moving from weekly to bi-weekly as skills stick, and we establish a clear plan for safety and crisis resources from the start.
