What should a new client know about working with you?

Note: scheduling a first appointment here is a for a free consultation to see if it is a good fit. I will tell you a bit about my practice and you can ask any questions. My first goal is to get to know you. Then together we try to find immediate practical ways to help stabilize your situation. I take a slow, careful approach and I try to allow a client to unfold at their own pace. We work at your speed fast or slow and focus on both mind and body techniques. Intensive EMDR sessions can be booked as 2 sessions running consecutively, though many clients choose to stay with the 1 session model for EMDR. Therapy is not a fast process, so being ready to commit time and consistency to the work is important. Being ready to choose therapy is an investment in yourself and in my experience can have a wonderful positive impact on life and functionality.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A session starts out with finding out how a client is doing and how their time in between sessions went (most the past week). Then we might check in on progress and or problems. I assess everyone individually, so what type of therapy is used depends on your unique needs. My goal is to help you feel connected and to help you feel like a partner in your therapy.
