Hello, I'm Ed, and I'm glad you're here. With over 40 years of experience in the mental health field and as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia since 1991, I believe deeply in the intrinsic worth and value of every individual. My approach to therapy is holistic, addressing the mind, body, and spirit in a compassionate and non-judgmental manner. I earned my bachelor's degree in Psychology from Southwestern University and my master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University-Commerce. In 1992, I had the privilege of being trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) by its founder, Francine Shapiro, PhD. This powerful tool is one of many I use to help my clients heal and grow. My therapeutic approach is client-centered, offering non-judgmental support through cognitive behavior techniques, mindfulness, EMDR, and insight-oriented strategies. I specialize in helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, family relationships, grief and bereavement, PTSD, intimate and romantic relationships, spirituality, stress, and trauma.
