Elena Fosness, LMFT

Psychotherapist
HI
Hi there, I'm Elena! My name is Elena Fosness, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Minnesota. I earned my Master’s in Counseling from Adler Graduate School. I work with teenagers and adults and specialize in depression, traumatic experiences, and anxiety. My approach My approach to therapy varies based on my clients' needs. Modalities I use most frequently are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). These help clients overcome their struggles. My focus I see my approach as a good fit for teens and adults experiencing challenging life transitions and difficult mental health symptoms, often depression, anxiety, stress, and trauma. I help clients navigate difficult periods and learn skills to feel better about themselves and the world. My communication style My style is warm, approachable, and supportive. I want clients to feel comfortable discussing anything without fear of judgment. My journey to mental healthcare My journey began when I noticed how emotions affect behaviors, choices, relationships, and life. I wanted to learn how to approach life situations positively and constructively for personal growth. I also saw how hurtful experiences can hold people back and was interested in healthy ways to overcome them. This, along with my drive to help others, led me to this field. My goals for you I help clients define what they want to accomplish in therapy.
