Telehealth/In person available in Washington Connecticut Hi, I’m Elizabeth. I work with adults, couples, and young adults who are looking for a thoughtful space to better understand themselves, their relationships, and the emotional patterns that shape their lives. Many of the people who come to therapy with me are capable and insightful, yet feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or isolated in ways that others may not see. Some are professionals who appear successful on the outside but feel alone in carrying responsibility. Others are parents juggling competing demands, students struggling to keep up appearances, or individuals navigating difficult life transitions. With over 40 years of clinical experience, my background spans schools, hospice care, addiction treatment, and private practice. This breadth allows me to meet clients with a deep understanding of how life experiences, loss, family dynamics, and long-standing emotional patterns influence the present. I work thoughtfully with couples who want to rebuild communication, strengthen emotional connection, and navigate conflict in healthier ways. I also have a strong interest in supporting women who are exploring their voice, identity, and personal strength at different stages of life. My therapeutic style is warm, reflective, and insight-oriented. Together we explore the patterns that may be contributing to stress, relationship challenges, or emotional disconnection, while building greater clarity, resilience, and self-understanding. Whether you are navigating relationship struggles, major life transitions, or simply feeling stuck in ways that are difficult to name, therapy can offer a space to slow down, reflect, and move forward with greater confidence and connection.

What should a new client know about working with you?

One of the things I value most about therapy is the idea of parallel process, the understanding that growth happens for both people in the room. While my role is to support, guide, and offer perspective, I also believe there is always something to learn from the people I work with. In many ways, therapy becomes a shared space of reflection and discovery. With over 40 years of experience across schools, hospice care, addiction treatment, and private practice, I bring both clinical knowledge and a deep respect for each person’s unique story. I approach therapy with curiosity, patience, and genuine interest in understanding what has shaped your life and relationships. Clients often tell me they appreciate having a calm, thoughtful space where they feel heard and understood. My goal is to help you explore patterns that may be affecting your life while also supporting you in developing greater clarity, confidence, and connection. I see therapy as a collaborative process where insight develops over time. Together we create a space where meaningful understanding and growth can unfold at a pace that feels right for you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our early sessions focus on getting to know you; your story, what brings you to therapy now, and what you hope might feel different in your life or relationships. Together we begin to identify patterns in emotions, relationships, and experiences that may be influencing the present. My approach is thoughtful and insight-oriented. I believe therapy works best when it is collaborative and unfolds at a pace that allows real understanding to develop. Over time, our conversations often explore the connections between past experiences and current challenges while also supporting practical ways to respond differently.
