Getting to know Elyse Denorfia
With over a decade and a half of experience working with clients in various settings, Elyse Denorfia is a highly skilled psychotherapist who practices virtually through Reclaiming Roots Therapy. She aims to provide a safe and nurturing space where her clients can feel supported as they develop and connect with their strengths.
Elyse acquired her master's degree in social work from Westfield State University. She is an EMDR certified therapist and consultant through EMDRIA, and her preferred therapeutic modality to help clients get "unstuck" from their previous patterns.
Elyse's primary goal is to help clients build on their strengths so they can pursue their goals and significantly improve their overall quality of life. She will collaborate with you to tailor your sessions and provide the best care and support possible.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Please note: at this time, I only have recurring daytime availability (no evening availability.)
With a particular emphasis on EMDR therapy, I help clients process and heal from traumatic experiences, deeply embedded emotional distress, and past wounds that continue to affect their daily lives. I work with adults experiencing symptoms related to trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem and self-worth, and life transitions.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Starting with our first intake together, we will discuss your past experiences (so I can learn where you are coming from) and identify your goals for the future. We will work together to determine how best to get you to the place you want to be in your life.

Every visit I am pushed to continue to work on my goals and actually talk about what I am in Therapy for. She gives me assignments to do/work on during between visits so that I am constantly thinking about the personal work that I have to do and pushing myself to do it so that I can grow.
