“From day one Estee has been accommodating with our visits. As I grew up Orthodox Jewish, I could not imagine what coming out would be like without her support. Over the past year and a half seeing Estee has enhanced my life in such a profound way. I feel like I took the red pill and I’m no longer in the Matrix. The journey of life has been challenging, Estee has reminded me that I can feel, yet I can also allow myself to feel good.”

“I have been with Estee on and off for about 4 years now. She has been the constant in the back of my head. She brought me into adulthood and taught me how to deal with all the new stresses. Then she was there when my mom got sick and passed away. Now, she is here for the aftermath. Estee helps me navigate so many difficult emotional responses in a calm manner. She gives me great insight into the way my brain works. She also provides amazing suggestions for things I can do to help alleviate the mess in my head. I cannot recommend her enough. ”

Getting to know Estee Hirsch

I am a psychotherapist specializing in individual and couples therapy, maintaining a full-time private practice in the financial district of Manhattan. After receiving my Master’s in Counseling from the City University of New York, Brooklyn College, I continued my training at The Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy (ICP), focusing on psychoanalytic theory and practice. I am currently working as a high-risk screener as well as a therapist for the LGBTQ+ affirmative treatment division within ICP. In addition to private practice work, I conduct research identifying predictive factors for people leaving Orthodox Judaism and have presented at conferences on the topic of disaffiliation within Orthodox Judaism. I am currently pursuing my PhD at Adelphi University School of Social Work. My approach to therapy is primarily psychodynamic in nature. In my practice, I take the time to listen closely to your needs and tailor our sessions to meet you where you currently are. Through our work together, we will move toward greater understanding of your past and its impact on your life today. This depth of work allows for greater self-acceptance and more control over the decisions you make in your life. Our sessions will focus on increasing your self-awareness while strengthening your capacity to fully engage with the world. Together, we will expand your window of tolerance by unpacking the feelings and thoughts that bring you discomfort, leading to a more authentic and comprehensive experience of yourself.
