What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to counseling is integrative as I value interpersonal processing, behavioral approaches and psychodynamic understanding of psychological function and treatment. I have had the opportunity to work with diverse clients as therapist, supervisor and clinical program director of various community-based mental health clinics. Through my work, I hope to help my clients experience relief and personal growth by enabling them to gain insight into the issues that hinder them. I am passionate about seeing people thrive even in the midst of challenging life events. My goal is to help people navigate difficult transitions such as marriage, parenting, retirement etc. and grow to become better versions of themselves.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During our first session, I will spend time getting to know your background and history so as to get a better understanding of your behavioral health needs. During subsequent sessions, we will spend time exploring the issues you encounter in daily life and how you can navigate these issues to achieve your personal goals. Counseling sessions are collaborative and we will work together to find solutions to the areas you experience challenges.
