Psychotherapist
AZ
Hello, I'm Ginger. Creating a safe space where you can feel comfortable is my top priority in our practice together. I understand that it can feel overwhelming to share your challenges and struggles with someone you've just met. When we start working together, we'll begin by building a comfortable therapeutic relationship. For some people, that may only take a session or two, and for others, it might take a little more time. We'll go at a pace that feels right for you. As we get to know each other, we'll also work together to gently stretch your comfort zone, helping you make progress toward your goals. I graduated from Eastern Washington University in 2008 with a Master's Degree in Social Work. My journey began in advocacy, supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual trauma in various settings. I've worked as an advocate helping survivors navigate the court system, in shelters, and in supervisory and senior leadership positions to develop survivor support programs in domestic violence/sexual violence advocacy agencies. In 2018, I transitioned my advocacy skills to the mental health field. Now, as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I work with individuals with a history of trauma, anxiety, and depression. I primarily work with adults, using a psychodynamic approach. This means we'll have conversations and dive deeper into the patterns that emerge, helping you better understand yourself. I also incorporate techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavior therapy. Each person is unique, and I believe that drawing from various techniques creates an individualized experience tailored to your specific needs. If you're ready to take the next step, I'm here to support you on your journey. Let's work together to help you achieve your goals and improve your well-being.
