“Heather has helped me so much! She is very down to earth and made me feel so welcome, but she also will be honest and tell you the truth, even if its not what you want to hear. I think this is what makes me trust heather the most. Also occasionally she is funny & has a great sense of humor. I highly recommend heather as a therapist. I have made so much progress with her”

Getting to know Heather Feigin

If you are suffering from anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, depression, anger, addiction, or grief, help is here! With over 15 years of experience and hundreds of clients treated successfully, I have the skills and understanding to help you lead a more content, fulfilling, and functional life. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Yeshiva University's Wurzweiler School of Social Work and am a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist with extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychoanalytic Theory, and Gottman Method couples therapy. More importantly, I treat people, not modalities or disorders! Therefore, my treatment style draws on a number of different methods depending on your specific needs.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I offer a warm, empathic, and supportive environment in which you will gain the clarity, tools and strength you need to overcome your challenges and move forward. By the end of the first or second session, we will outline your goals and create a personalized treatment plan designed specifically for you. Quality mental health services should be accessible to everyone. Therefore, I work with many insurance companies as an out of network provider. I work directly with your insurance company to keep your out of pocket costs as low as possible.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our work together, I will outline a treatment plan designed specifically for you. Here's what you can expect: I will spend the first few sessions learning about what brought you to therapy. I will ask you lots of questions about your background and history to make sure I get to know you well. Therapy is a collaborative and interactive process, so feel free to ask me your questions as well! By the end of the first or second session, we will outline your goals and begin working toward them. When outlining your goals, we will draw upon your strengths, choices and experiences. Throughout our work together, I will periodically check in with you to make sure you are on track, and that you are receiving everything you want out of therapy.

Heather was a great listener and offered helpful suggestions that I never considered on my own. Very happy to be seeing her after my last therapist who would just listen.
I was shocked at just how much insight and understanding Heather has! She truly helped me see the light at the end of the tunnel which I didnt think was possible!
I look forward to my visits with Heather every week. Talking to her is like talking to a trusted & close friend, but she also makes me aware of so many things about myself I wouldn't have figured out on my own.
I have worked with Heather on and off over the last few years as needed for various issues that have come up for me. She is supportive, super knowledgeable, and offers perspectives that are very helpful to me. I've seen a few therapists before and Heather is the best!
