Getting to know Heidi Quinlan

Hello, I'm Heidi. For 21 years, I have had the privilege of working with children, families, adolescents, and adults who are striving to be the best version of themselves, achieve their goals, and live out their values as effectively as they wish. My journey in mental health began by assisting those experiencing a mental health crisis, which laid a strong foundation for my career. I then focused on working with families using a variety of therapeutic techniques such as play and sand tray therapies, cognitive behavioral techniques, art therapy, and Theraplay. Over time, I expanded my practice to include addiction recovery maintenance, utilizing Motivational Interviewing and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to support families affected by substance and behavioral addictions. I managed an inpatient adolescent substance abuse program that emphasized Dialectical Behavior Therapy and later combined my passions by managing an inpatient program for pregnant and parenting women with addictions. My post-graduate training concentrated on infant and early childhood attachment and the effects of trauma on quality of life in adulthood, which led me to become the Clinical Director of the Infant and Early Childhood department. My career then transitioned to working with families involved with Family Court, who often face legal and co-parenting challenges. Life is often complex, and as a social species, we were never meant to face life's challenges alone. I have faith in the resilience and capability of every individual. Sometimes, we need a neutral sounding board to help us find that resilience within ourselves. If you feel that I might be the right fit to support you on your journey, I invite you to reach out. Together, we can navigate the complexities of life and uncover the strength within you.
