Getting to know Hila Teller

I provide individual therapy for adults seeking to better understand themselves, heal from the lingering effects of early attachment wounds, and improve their relationships. Many of my clients are thoughtful, introspective adults who have spent much of their lives caring for others, often at the expense of their own emotional needs. These early patterns can influence how you relate to yourself and others, creating cycles of disconnection, self-criticism, or difficulty setting boundaries. In our work together, I offer a warm, trauma-informed, and relationally attuned space where you can safely explore your inner world. We’ll look at how past experiences continue to shape your feelings, thoughts, and behaviors, while also focusing on present challenges, particularly in your relationships with partners, family, or friends. My goal is to help you identify and shift patterns that no longer serve you, while cultivating greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and authentic connection with others. I approach therapy collaboratively, tailoring each session to your unique needs and pace. Healing is a gradual process, and I aim to provide a steady, supportive environment where you can feel understood, seen, and accepted. Together, we’ll explore your emotional landscape, uncover underlying patterns, and develop healthier ways of relating — both to yourself and to the people who matter most in your life. If you are ready to explore your past, understand your present, and build more fulfilling relationships, I invite you to reach out. Therapy can be a powerful step toward personal growth, emotional balance, and deeper connection with yourself and others.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you begin working with me, you’ll find a warm, calm, and non-judgmental space where you can bring all parts of yourself — the ones you show the world and the ones you often keep hidden. Many of my clients are introspective adults who grew up needing to be strong or taking care of others at the expense of their own needs. These early patterns can shape how you relate to yourself and to others, sometimes creating cycles of disconnection or difficulty feeling fully seen. In our sessions, we explore these patterns gently and collaboratively. I work from a trauma-informed, relational perspective, focusing on how past experiences influence present relationships — with partners, family, friends, and yourself. Together, we uncover insights, address emotional blocks, and develop skills for self-compassion, emotional balance, and healthier connections. Therapy with me is tailored to your pace and unique needs. My goal is to help you feel understood, supported, and empowered as you explore your inner world. If you’re ready to gain clarity, strengthen your relationships, and create meaningful personal growth, I invite you to reach out.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When beginning therapy, we start by getting to know you — your background, what brings you in, and what you hope to gain. The first few sessions focus on understanding your story and building a sense of safety and trust. I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is a key part of healing, so we take time to create a space where you can feel seen, supported, and understood. As we continue, we explore the patterns that shape how you think, feel, and relate to others. My approach is trauma-informed and relational, helping you understand how early experiences may still affect your current life and relationships. Together, we uncover the emotional themes that keep you feeling stuck and work toward new ways of relating — both to yourself and to others — with greater compassion and authenticity. Throughout the process, I check in about what feels helpful and where we might need to adjust. Our work is collaborative and paced according to your needs — sometimes reflective and exploratory, sometimes focused and practical. My goal is not to “fix” you, but to help you develop insight, resilience, and deeper connection. Therapy is a gradual process, and I aim to offer a steady, supportive presence as you create meaningful and lasting change in your life.
