Ian Gough, LCPC

Ian Gough, LCPC

Psychotherapist
655 W. Irving Park Rd., Unit 4303, Chicago, IL
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) at Mindful Therapy & Wellness. I graduated from National Louis University with a Masters in Community Mental Health and have been practicing for about 5 years. I have worked at a variety of community agencies as well as private practice settings, both large and small, and have experience working with clients across all ages and demographics. I provide individual, group and couples therapy. My approach is eclectic - I pull from several modalities depending on what my client needs in order to find the most effective path toward progress and positive change. I tend to favor CBT, DBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, Strengths-based and Solution-focused techniques to address issues such as: anxiety, depression, life transitions, poor self-esteem, ADHD, and trauma. I love reading and learning about psychology to expand on my skills and offer more options/insights to my clients. My style is warm, open-minded, and client-centered. Quite often, the bond between therapist and client is the key toward success. I like to empower the client by allowing them to identify their target, then aiding them on their journey to find it. If you’d like to know just a bit about me, I live in Logan Square with my wife and two dogs. I enjoy reading fiction, watching old horror movies, going on long walks around the neighborhood and occasionally making art when the mood strikes.
