Ingrid Mazziotta, LCPC

Psychotherapist
MD
Welcome! My name is Ingrid Mazziotta, and I'm a dually-licensed counselor with seven years of experience in addiction and mental health counseling. I specialize in treating substance use disorders, behavioral addictions such as gambling and sex addiction, and co-occurring mental health conditions. My favorite clients to work with are those impacted by addiction in someone close to them. I also enjoy working with sexual wellness and strive to create a sex-positive safe space for clients to explore their identities and interpersonal relationship dynamics, including LGBTQIA+, polyamory, and ethical nonmonogamy. I have training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and take a client-centered, collaborative approach to support my clients throughout their therapeutic journey. Therapy is not about fixing yourself. It’s about allowing you to live authentically. Life can be painful, but that doesn’t mean we have to suffer. I would love to be a part of your journey toward living your best life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I often use concepts from Dialectical Behavior Therapy in my practice. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. With DBT, we'll develop practical skills for managing emotions, thoughts, and relationships by balancing acceptance and change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I work with clients who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, or trauma related to their experiences with addiction, either in themselves or those around them. Our first session gives us the chance to get to know one another, and set up some initial goals for counseling. I like to leave the first session with an idea of something to kick us off in counseling so we can dive right in!
