James Casadia, LCSW

Psychotherapist
AZ
Hi there, I'm James! James Casadia is a licensed clinical social worker and a licensed alcohol and drug counselor. He earned his Master's in Social Work from Rutgers University. He has specialized training in cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, EMDR, Polyvagal theory, mindfulness, and other experiential and somatic therapies. He treats trauma, panic attacks, anxiety, depression, BPAD, obsessions/compulsions, and addictions. He also has experience addressing existential issues related to spirituality and meaning. My approach My approach combines traditional talk therapies with somatic and experiential therapies. Somatic and experiential therapies involve engaging your body and nervous system in the healing process. It's like your body is talking to you, and you are learning how to listen and respond. Symptoms of trauma, anxiety, and depression are treated by connecting with the body while also being present with thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations. Through breathing exercises and gentle movements alongside talk therapy, individuals learn to recognize and respond to their body's signals, promoting healing and well-being. My focus My clients typically experience symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, panic attacks, low motivation, addictions, and obsessions/compulsions. My communication style I see therapy as a conversation and a journey where therapist and client work together. The therapist acts as a guide, not an expert. Only the client truly understands their situation and goals. It's important for the client to be actively involved in the healing and discovery process. My journey to mental healthcare Supporting growth and change in my clients is deeply rewarding. Witnessing a person's journey from being overwhelmed by panic attacks, trauma symptoms, depression, or addiction to achieving inner peace and freedom is incredibly fulfilling.
